Poliomyelitis (polio) was first recognized as a distinct condition by Jakob Heine in 1840 and its causative agent, poliovirus, was identified in 1908 by Karl Landsteiner. Since then many children have lost their childhood throughout the world.
Through this Greeting Card ‘The New LEED’ appreciates the efforts led by Rotary International, the World Health Organization, and UNICEF which would result in the global eradication of the disease.
'The New LEED’ – an NGO working for underprivileged and economically backward people in and around Chennai since 1991, Where we have a project centre at Thiruvalluvar Nagar, Perungudi, Chennai through which we conduct Skill Development Training Program like tailoring, basket making etc. for women, Activity-based training program with Library and computer education to help, educate and train Women, Children and Youth to be self-sustainable and economically independent, apart from that we organize Family Development programs for women.
